This project uses two different strategies to resolve the stormwater issue, which are dry creek bed and eco-parking lot. On the other hand, this project emphasizes two main elements, which are nature and playground. To illustrate nature, wood and plants are widely used. Plants are not only can be used to address the water issue, but also can provide different experiences to children according to the three planting types, natural garden, planting blocks, and dry creek bed. Combing wood and plants can create several different playgrounds for children both satisfying recreation and education functions. The project also proposes a shadow playground.
This playground can provide shade for children who play in the sun. Furthermore, the shelter with different animals’ figures will provide animals’ shadows on the ground or wall which will change along the day time. Therefore, children's interests will be aroused as well as they can learn about different animals while playing in the playground.
